Working Groups

Delivering collaborative solutions at scale

The Working Groups are our primary collaborative activities to deliver  collective impact and precompetitive solutions at scale.

​

They are designed to encourage members to address complex and difficult challenges and work towards developing operational solutions.

 

They promotes Integrity, Accountability and Transparency through an open, non bureaucratic and iterative process where every category of members have their role to play to influence meaningfully the outcomes through regular sessions and open sessions designed to maximize everyone’s role and capability to deliver positive outcomes.

Transparency & Traceability

This Working Group aims to explore ways to improve transparency and traceability in coconut farming, with the goal of promoting more sustainable and equitable practices and address complex challenges of transparency and traceability in the coconut industry.

  • DEVELOPMENT OF A COMMON SUSTAINABILITY INFORMATION SHARING PLATFORM to share aligned supply chain & sustainability data and insights between supply chain partners

Low Carbon &
Regen Ag

This Working Group aims to enable the development of low carbon and regenerative agriculture (“RegenAg”) practices throughout the coconut industry by supporting the development of necessary pre-competitive studies, baselines, pilots and assessments for optimal low carbon and regenerative practices by farmers and supply chain actors to reduce environmental impact and create added value.​​

  •  DEVELOP A DERIVED LAND USE CHANGE EMISSIONS FACTOR from updated deforestation maps

  • DEVELOP A META ANALYSIS ON EFFECTIVE LOW CARBON & REGENERATIVE AG PRACTICES IN COCONUT

Landscape
Approach

This Working Group aims to develop a sustainable coconut supply chain and production in landscapes and jurisdictions based on interests, geographies and partnerships, with the objective of spurring flagship landscape/jurisdictional projects or tools that uphold the principles of the Coconut Charter.

HUMAN RIGHTS
LIVING INCOME

(NEW)

This working group is dedicated to addressing the pressing issue of farmers livelihoods and insufficient income for individuals involved in coconut cultivation

Recognizing the vital role the coconut industry plays in millions of households, the group focuses on devising market driven strategies to ensure that farmer improve their livelihoods receive a sustainable and livable income.

This includes examining factors such as fair pricing mechanisms, improving productivity, enhancing market access, and promoting sustainable farming practices.

 

By fostering collaboration among stakeholders and implementing innovative solutions, the group aims to uplift the livelihoods of coconut farmers, promoting economic stability and social well-being within the farming communities.
